Change default router and access point passwords and admin usernames

Devices shipped with default credentials such as "admin/admin" are one of the easiest wins for anyone on your network or scanning it remotely, and changing them takes minutes. Update firmware at the same time — many exploited vulnerabilities are already patched in the latest version.

Coach's tip: keep a secure record of these changed credentials with your IT support — an unrecoverable router lockout is a painful, avoidable outage.
